Thoughts at the Airport

Standing at the airport in Houston...okay. Okay, maybe I wasn't standing. I was...dancing. Yep. To "Caramelltanzen" (:P), "Just Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Buble, then to "Sing, Sing, Sing," "Our God" and "No Chains on Me" by Chris Tomlin.
By the third time round of Chris Tomlin, I was very much aware of God's presence around me, to the point of looking around and wondering why no one else could sense it.
I noticed a couple of people watching me after a while. I suppose a young woman in two long, loose dresses and a t-shirt with long hair and no make-up dancing publicly was a bit noticeable. :P I used to care, but I try not to any more. Have you ever noticed how restricting caring about people watching you is? You try to blend in. Or else, stand out in a way that fits the mold. Make up. Clothes that aren't too extreme. Moving in the approved way - walking, not skipping, or dancing.
As I watched the people aro...

I didn't write this song. It's Don Francisco's. But right now, it says what I want to say more perfectly than I could if I tried. When the weariness sets in - turn to God. When it seems easier to turn away; no matter the hurt - carry on in His strength. When the heart cries it can't do any more, take the next step forward in the supernatural almighty Hand of God.

The song Ever Ever After , as sung by Carrie Underwood in the Disney film "Enchanted". Storybook endings, fairy tales coming true Deep down inside we want to believe they still do And a secret is taught, it's our favourite part of the story Let's just admit we all want to make it too... Ever ever after If we just don't get it our own way Ever ever after It may only be a wish away Start a new fashion, and wear your heart on your sleeve. Sometimes you reach what's real just by making believe. Unafraid, unashamed, There is joy to be claimed in this world; You even might wind up being glad to be you. Ever ever after Though the world will tell you it's not smart Ever ever after The world can be yours if you let your heart Believe in ever after. No wonder your heart feels it's flying. Your head feels it's spinning. Each happy ending's a brand new beginning! Let yourself be enchanted, you just might break through... To ever ever after Forever could ev...

No, this isn't the one I play. This is my grandparents' one from Woodstock, Canada; it used to be in their home in Bridgend, Wales. My dad inherited it; my mom hates it. So my dad is leaving it to me in his will. It needs a lot of revamping, and requires a LOT of knee and leg work for the bellows and sound effects, but it makes awesome sound! (At least, the in-tune keys do. :D) (Yes, I'm in my guinea pig/chicken clean out clothes. You're looking at the ORGAN. :P)

A while ago, I buzzed a comment asking what people would like me to blog on next. Out of three people, two asked for a blog on music. The third asked for a hole-pick in musicals - something which, although I love them, I am looking forward to doing. To start with, I'm going to cover my MP3 in several blog posts. :D That might give you a kind of idea of what I listen to. I also may post links of songs that are special for me, and/or the lyrics that make that particular song stand out. I'm expecting participation in my Buzz and my comments on here, since you asked for this! :D To start with, I'm a weird person, and my ranges, like my moods, are wild, weird and wonderful. Ie, varied. I'm not going to go through and tell you every button on my MP3, because listing "Record Now", "Now Playing", "Music", "Genre", isn't anything to do with it. Go on, smile....you thought I was being blonde. :P And no, dear politically correct people, ...
Song of Gomer

New favourite, by Michael Card. Unfortunately, I can't find a video anywhere of him singing this, so I'll just post the lyrics. :) Hope it blesses you too! Song of Gomer Don’t know what He sees in me, he is spirit, he is free And I, the wife of adultery, Gomer is my name Simply more than I can see how he keeps on forgiving me How he keeps his sanity; Hosea, you’re a fool Chorus: A fool to love someone like me, a fool to suffer silently But sometimes through your eyes I see, I’d rather be a fool. The fondness of a father, the passion of a child The tenderness of a loving friend, an understanding smile All of this and so much more you’ve lavished on a faithless whore I’ve never known love like this before; Hosea, you’re a fool CHORUS This God of yours would not have told To lift a love that you couldn’t hold And though time and time again I flee I’m always glad to see you coming after me Simply more than I can see, how he keeps on forgiving me The wife of adultery, and Gomer is m...

Two of my closest girl friends have to be Kiehl G. and Lindi/Anjel C. God has blessed me so richly with and through their friendships. Both encourage when times are hard, speaking truth even when they know it hurts them and me. And the support they've given through the last several years has been incredible. I pray God will bless them both richly and shine their candles out in a blaze to the world. Yesterday, Lindi (as those of you from OYAN will remember her) sent me this song. I heard it once before - it's used in the film "Fireproof". I liked it then, but forgot it. Lindi, it has blessed me so much. It's been on repeat all morning. You blessing! While I'm waiting. I will worship and serve You while I'm waiting. Well, for starters, I'm going to go back to my emails and pick up contact with eight of my female friends. I'll decide whether to with my guy friends later on. Mrs. S Lydia DeW. Angelique Alena Lindi Hannah M Hannah-le Sandy And two of my...
Be Still, My Soul!

A few moments ago, I typed out the lyrics to this wonderful hymn on Google Buzz. Travelling over the internet to the site of Cyber Hymnal , I picked up the other two verses. At a time of waiting and seeking to know the will of God, this hymn and one other keep powerfully coming back to my heart. Be Still, My Soul; written by Katharina von Schlegel and translated by Jane Borthwick. The tune is Finlandia - national anthem of Finland - written by Jean Sibelius. The Scripture running across the screen of the Cyber Hymnal page reads this. Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10 Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side. Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain. Leave to thy God to order and provide; In every change, He faithful will remain. Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end. Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake To guide the future, as He has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake; All now mysterious shall be...

We recently bought and watched the musical "My Fair Lady". Being the song lover - and the musical lover - that I am, I fell fast in love with the above mentioned song. Have nearly got it off pat already. ;) For those of you who have never heard it, here is the beauty of "I Could've Danced All Night", with the stunning Audrey Hepburn and the glorious voice dub of Marni Nixon.
Christmas Blessing

Christmas. A time of peace and joy and family and loving and giving. A time to remember the cause of the celebration - the Lord Jesus, the God of all, becoming smaller than the full stop at the end of this sentence. One of the things I love about Christmas is a childish anticipation that usually possesses me at the beginning of December, a gay* abandonment of spirit, excitement at the approach. Second thing I love most is when one goes out on Christmas Day, with a smile on one's face...people walking past beam back at you and the happy greeting of "Merry Christmas!" is exchanged. For me, that symbolises a little the line, "peace on earth, goodwill to all men." This year was one of the worst Christmases. We ran a high risk of not being able to get my brother home; my sister was living on our living room floor. Most of the days were spent trying to sort problems out and waiting hand and foot on Ayanna. Out of our usual stock of mince pies, rum truffles and marzipa...

Last Christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special. Once bitten and twice shy, I keep my distance but you still catch my eye. Tell me baby, do you recognize me? Well, it's been a year, it doesn't surprise me Merry Christmas, I wrapped it up and sent it With a note saying 'I love you'; I meant it. Now I know what a fool I've been, But if you kiss me now, I know you'd fool me again. Last Christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special. Last Christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special. A crowded room and friends with tired eyes I'm hiding from you and your soul of ice My ***, I thought you were someone to rely on Me, I guess I was a shoulder to cry on. A face on a lover with a fire in hi...

Sitting in the car on the way to church yesterday, mulling over what was going on between my best friend and I, I was scrolling up and down through my MP3 player list. I listened to Judy Rogers' "Angel Face" - Angel face, you cannot serve two masters. Angel face, the world will leave you cold and alone! Angel face, you're headin' for disaster; Can't you hear your Father callin'? "Angel face, come back home." I unwillingly, yet with longing, played Michael Card's "I Have Decided" - There's a wealth of things that I professed Or said that I believed. But deep inside I never changed - I guess I've been deceived. And a voice inside kept telling me That I'd change by and by. But the Spirit made it clear to me - That kind of life's a lie! I have decided I'm gonna live like a believer, Turn my back on the deceiver, Gonna live what I believe. I have decided Being good is just a fable; I just can't cause I'm not a...

Always turns out that whichever Tenth Avenue North song I like least, I end up liking most. "Crazy, ma-a-an!" :P I called you up, you were in bed, could barely make out the words that you said But you wanted to see me instead, so I got dressed So I stepped out into the snow, and walked for a mile or so Felt the rush of blood come from the cold, within my chest Well, you finally came to the door, and we talked for an hour or more Until I asked if you would stay up until four, and you said that's fine But you said "theres something I have to say, and I can just because I am so afraid" And so I held you as you started to shake, that night Oh, my dear, I'll wait for you Grace tonight will pull us through Until the tears have left your eyes Until the fear can sleep at night Until the demons that you're scared of Disappear inside Until the scale begins to crack And this weight falls from your back Oh, my dear, I'll keep you in my arms tonight You slowly li...
